Historical Residences Day 2026: villas, castles and gardens open in Florence

On Sunday 24 May, on the occasion of ADSI National Day, many places can be visited free of charge

Sunday, May 24 marks the return of ADSI National Day, Italy’s most important event dedicated to historic residences. Organized by the Association of Italian Historic Residences, the initiative opens more than 4,500 residences—including palaces, villas, castles, and gardens—to the public free of charge throughout the country.

Tuscany is also participating with a rich program of open houses, particularly in Florence and the surrounding areas, where visitors will be able to explore sites usually closed to the public, including private homes, historic residences, and monumental complexes steeped in history and set amidst the landscape. In addition to the tours, many residences will host special events and activities, such as art exhibitions, classical music concerts, and theatrical performances, designed for a broad and diverse audience.

Admission is free, but online reservations are required for some residences, while others will be freely accessible on a first-come, first-served basis.
