The colored Florence of Gabriele Colzi
The Instagrammable universe of young Tuscan content creator
Content creator, photographer and speech therapist: how do you bring all your passions together?
It’s not easy: I have to be organised, working on content in the evenings and getting up early in the mornings. It’s tiring, but satisfying. My work as a paediatric speech therapist prevents me losing my authenticity. I think my strength lies in speaking about things I really like.
Your photos are always characterised by light and pastel colours. How come?
For me colour represents life, attitude, feelings. And while black and white interpret, colour is open to interpretation. The use of pastel shades is a way of sacrificing reality in order to give it a more meaningful value. The colours in my photos reflect my way of being: peaceful, cheerful, positive.
What gives you the inspiration to create content?
Before every trip I gather information, seek advice and organise my digital story with anecdotes and interesting facts. Added to this is the unexpected aspect that’s typical of any trip that inspires photography.
3 unmissable places in a walk around Florence?
The Bardini Gardens, the Stibbert Museum and the cemetery of Porte Sante di San Miniato.
How did the #RiscopriFirenze initiative begin?
After the first lockdown I thought of an effective way to help my city recover. I called it #RiscopriFirenze, and I got most of Florence’s museums on board, with the aim of getting young people to fall in love with art again, in an unconventional way. The response was immediate.
What’s the most beautiful thing you’ve seen on your travels?
The Rainbow Mountain in Peru.
