It's already Christmas time in Florence, the illuminations in Via de' Tornabuoni are switched on
This year seven shiny trees covered in LED micro-lights
The lighting of Via de' Tornabuoni officially kicked off the Christmas celebrations. For the city's most exclusive shopping street, it will be a Christmas in the name of fun, but also of attention to energy saving. The illuminations, composed of threads of light from tall luminous fir trees, will be lit for 10, not 12 hours: from midday to midnight.

Seven luminous trees - three 10-metre high and four 8-metre high - completely covered in warm white LED lights, with flashes in cool tones positioned at regular intervals along the entire length of Via Tornabuoni.
Present at the lighting ceremony, in front of Palazzo Strozzi, were, among others, the councillor for commerce and productive activities, Giovanni Bettarini, representing the mayor Dario Nardella, the president of the trade association Aldo Cursano and the director Franco Marinoni.

"The lighting of the illuminations in the Tornabuoni is by now a staple in the Florentine Advent calendar, a time to celebrate and give the city a sign of warmth and hope," adds president Aldo Cursano, "it was like that in Covid's time and continues to be so. But this year it was also important to pay attention to the issues of economic and energy sustainability of the project, and I believe we have succeeded in doing so'.
In addition to Via de' Tornabuoni, the Christmas air has also arrived in Piazza Santa Croce, where we find one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Tuscany, the Weihnachtsmarkt, which will keep the city company until 19 December.
