A Tavola sulla spiaggia at La Capannina
June 29, 2026

The XXXIII edition of A tavola sulla spiaggia in Forte dei Marmi

On Monday, July 6, the dishes will be presented at Villa Bertelli, and on Thursday, July 9, the awards ceremony will take place on the Terrazza Alle Boe at Bagno Piero

There are traditions that take root far from the spotlight of haute cuisine. Traditions that take shape in everyday gestures, in the aromas of seafood recipes, in tables set on the beach, and in meals shared with family and friends as they gaze out at the horizon. It is precisely from this authentic heritage that A Tavola sulla Spiaggia draws its inspiration—the historic gastronomic event in Forte dei Marmi conceived by Gianni Mercatali, which will celebrate its 34th edition in 2026.

The event has its roots in the history of Versilia’s beach resorts, when many families lived within the beach houses and the kitchens were the beating heart of daily life. From that heritage of flavors and conviviality, an event was born in 1993 that, year after year, continues to celebrate the connection between the sea, cuisine, and tradition.

The 2026 edition will kick off on Monday, July 6, at 12:30 p.m. with the presentation of the dishes in the Winter Garden of Villa Bertelli, the first event dedicated to tasting and evaluating the recipes in the competition. It will conclude on Thursday, July 9, at 6:00 p.m. with the awards ceremony on the Terrazza Alle Boe at Bagno Piero, when the winner of the Piatto Forte 2026 will be announced.

Once again this year, the central theme will be cooking with leftovers—that is, the art of transforming simple ingredients and leftovers into tasty, healthy, and creative dishes, making the most of every ingredient and reducing waste.

There will be twelve contestants in the competition, each of whom will be asked to present an original dish that will be judged by a panel consisting of journalists, opinion leaders, winemakers, restaurateurs, and chefs. Each of the 12 culinary creations will be paired with a corresponding wine: from Trentino, Tenute Lunelli; from Emilia, Tenute Venturini Foschi; from Tuscany, Cantine Lunae, Castello Banfi, Donne Fittipaldi, and Famiglia Cecchi; from Umbria, Arnaldo Caprai; and from abroad, Perrier Jouet champagne. The jury will also include twelve Michelin-starred chefs from Versilia and other leading Italian restaurants.

Sponsored once again this year by the Municipality of Forte dei Marmi and hosted by Annamaria Tossani, the 34th edition of A Tavola sulla Spiaggia will award the winner the famous Scolapasta d'Oro, a symbol of a unique event on the Italian gastronomic scene that, for over thirty years, has celebrated the cuisine of memory, revival, and tradition in an original culinary talent show overlooking the sea.
