Florence Lights Up festival lights up all of Florence's most beautiful monuments
Until 6 January 2026 games of light and artistic installations throughout the city
From December 6, 2025, to January 6, 2026, Florence transforms into a large visual laboratory with Florence Lights Up, the special Christmas event that brings squares and monuments to life with videomapping, light installations, and artistic illuminations.
F-LIGHTS UP brings the magic of Christmas to the facades of Florence’s most iconic monuments. Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, and the Church of San Paolino will be the stars of spectacular videomappings that blend tradition with technological innovation. In addition, Piazza Santa Maria Novella, Piazza San Lorenzo, the Chamber of Commerce, and the courtyard and monumental entrance of Palazzo Medici Riccardi will be illuminated with unique artistic installations.

Key installations include Piazza delle Cure; Piazza Acciaiuoli in Galluzzo and Piazza Elia dalla Costa in Gavinana; Piazza dell’Isolotto and Piazza Pier Vettori; as well as Piazza Dalmazia and San Donato Park.

During the holiday season, from December 6 to January 6, a special lighting design will be activated for the historic gates, the Loggiato degli Innocenti, and the Loggiato di San Paolo at the Museo del Novecento. Ponte Santa Trinita will feature permanent illumination with four-color LED lights, adjustable in intensity and hue, remotely controlled to create both dynamic and static effects.
Also illuminated were Via Tornabuoni, the facades of the La Rinascente maxi store, the Mercato Centrale in San Lorenzo and Florence's natural shopping centers.
