Gucci returns to show in Florence
Cruise 2026 cites the history of the GG brand founded in the city in 1921
In the aftermath of Gucci's runway show in Florence, the brand at Palazzo Settimanni and in the beautiful light of Piazza Santo Spirito underscored its bond with the city of its origins, where Guccio Gucci founded the brand in 1921. Rooted in a tradition of craftsmanship, creativity and cultural richness, Florence continues to represent Gucci's identity heart: this is where Palazzo Gucci, Gucci Osteria and Gucci Giardino are based, as well as the offices and production hubs of Casellina and Gucci ArtLab: places that testify to the Maison's deep connection with the territory.

An emblematic place in Gucci's history, Palazzo Settimanni stands in the heart of the Oltrarno, a neighborhood that has always been linked to the Florentine artistic and artisanal tradition. Acquired by the House in 1953, the building has housed its ateliers, workshops, showrooms over time and, since 2021, has housed the Gucci Archives. Carefully restored to restore the richness of its architectural layers, today the Archive represents a dynamic space where past and present meet, guarding the Maison's most iconic creations and reflecting its spirit of continuous innovation.

“Returning to Florence-and in particular to Palazzo Settimanni-is both a tribute and a statement of intent,” says Stefano Cantino, CEO of Gucci. “The Archive is not only the custodian of our past, but a dynamic space where Gucci's identity codes are interwoven and renewed through constantly evolving interpretations. Presenting the Cruise 2026 collection here means renewing the link with our cultural and artisanal roots, projecting them with coherence and ambition into the future.”

Let's dive into this whispered reinterpretation of the maison's DNA that takes shape through the Cruise 2026 pieces that cite GG history.
