Stefano Collicelli Cagol is the new director of the Pecci Center in Prato

At the helm of the museum from January 10, 2022 with a three-year term

Stefano Collicelli Cagol is the new director of the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato and will assume the leadership of the museum starting January 10, 2022, with a three-year mandate, with the objective of supporting the research carried out by the museum in the visual arts, cinema, music, design and literature. 

The Board of Directors of the Foundation for Contemporary Arts in Tuscany has chosen his name from a shortlist of candidates identified by the examining committee composed of Bruno Corà, Sarah Cosulich, Guido Guerzoni and Lorenzo Sassoli de Bianchi. 


Stefano Collicelli Cagol, born in Padua in 1978, is an exhibition historian and earned a doctorate in the Curating Contemporary Art department of the Royal College of Art in London in 2014. From 2015 to 2017 he was curator of Trondheim kunstmuseum, Norway, and then became curator of La Quadriennale di Roma from 2018 to 2020 and co-curator of the Quadriennale d'arte 2020 FUORI exhibition at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. He has taught Exhibition and Display at the Master of Level II 'Design for Arts' at Politecnico di Torino and published several essays, and is now curator of the contemporary art center BY ART MATTERS in Hangzhou, China.
