In a region like Tuscany, a land of wines with a strong personality and centuries-old traditions, entering a wine shop is like experiencing at first hand a story of great study and dedication, of passion and knowledge handed down.
It is along this line of careful choice of labels and bottles that Florence's wine shops are grafted. We have uncovered the most historic and well-stocked ones, temples of centuries-old tradition and endless taste.
Enoteca Gambi dal 1957
Via Senese, 21r
ph. +39 055 0121545
Founded in 1957 as a bakery, today Enoteca Gambi presents itself in the dual role of bakery and wine shop. Fil rouge, the refinement and particularity of its proposals: from the selection of fresh bread and pastries from five different bakeries in the area (such as the bozza di Prato or the bread from Montespertoli Dei Grani Antichi) to a rich selection of Italian wines, liqueurs, sparkling wines, champagnes and dessert wines. There is also an online sales service.
Enoteca Bonatti
Via Vincenzo Gioberti, 66-68r
ph. +39 055 660050
The Bonatti wine shop was founded in Florence in 1934. Back then, wine arrived in barrels and was bottled, directly on the spot. There was no brand or denomination to guarantee the quality of the wine: the guarantee was the retailer himself. This concept has not changed in more than seventy years. Since then, three generations have succeeded each other in running the shop. In the wine shop you can find a selection of wines and spirits from all over Italy and abroad, with a special focus on France.
Enoteca Alessi
Via dell'Oche, 27r
ph. +39 055 214966
A stone's throw from the cathedral, in a medieval alley, is the Alessi wine shop, which has been in business for more than 50 years. The entrance between vaults and ancient wooden beams is reserved for wine tasting, where you can sit in tranquillity and converse over an excellent glass of wine accompanied by cold meats and cheeses. Descending into the cellar, you enter a hall of about 300 square metres, where temperature and humidity perfect for conservation, in symbiosis with a skilful distribution of lights, allow you to admire more than 2500 types of wine.
Bottiglieria Enoteca Vignoli
Via Cimabue, 9r
ph. +39 055 2343220
Founded in 1936 and owned by the Vignoli family since 1970, in this wine shop you can breathe in all the family flavour of the wine shops of yesteryear. A very old building of 60 square metres, with an underground cellar for storage, houses a wide variety of bottles, both national and international. From a bottle of Brunello from 1955 to some great Tuscan classics, organic wines and Barolo. The assortment of liqueurs and spirits is excellent.
Fratelli Zanobini
Mercato Centrale Firenze - Via Sant'Antonino, 47
ph. +39 055 2396850
Wine shop and sale founded by brothers Gino and Silvano in 1944. On the shelves dotting the premises are some 2,500 labels including wines, sparkling wines, liqueurs and spirits, as well as wines produced directly on the estate. The atmosphere is the lively and familiar one that can only be breathed in these places.
Enoteca Obsequium
Borgo S. Jacopo, 17
ph. +39 055 216849
A stone's throw from Ponte Vecchio, in Borgo San Jacopo under the medieval Marsili Tower. Here you can taste wines from Tuscany and other regions, extra virgin olive oil from Tuscany, traditional balsamic vinegar from Modena, and sample chopping boards with typical cheeses and cold cuts as well as other food and wine specialities such as fresh truffles, typical creams and sauces, chocolate, spices, biscuits and cantucci, and cakes. You will also find a wide range of Pulltex wine accessories.

Piazza del Vino
Via della Torretta, 18r
ph. +39 339 4184545
It was an old warehouse near the Campo di Marte railway station and everything has been left as it was. Although it is also known as a restaurant, it is actually the wine that is the main attraction here, also to buy as in a normal wine shop. More than 40,000 bottles are available: you are spoilt for choice. Fun fact: an entire shelf is dedicated to 'private cellars', set up to store the bottles of the heart.
Signorvino
Via de' Bardi, 46r e 48r
ph. +39 055 286258
Set in a magnificent Florence overlooking the Ponte Vecchio, Da Signorvino Firenze has almost 1500 labels, all Made in Italy. The wines are divided by region. You can also eat, with a good kitchen open all day.
