The sunset that warms up the roofs of Florence, vibrant atmosphere, signature cocktails and the wonderful Brunelleschi dome that seems to have been there for you... what are we talking about? It is Se·sto on Arno, Rooftop Bar & Restaurant on the sixth floor of The Westin Excelsior Florence, which for the lovers of blended has a novelty: the arrival of the new Bar Manager, Marco Piroli.
Born in Rome but raised in the Cocktail Scene in London, Marco has worked in some of the best bars and restaurants in the English capital.
It all began in 2009 when he landed at Soho House where he began to establish himself in cocktails competitions and become known in the bar industry.
Thus comes the opportunity to work at the LAB (London Academy of Bartenders), the historical cocktail bar of Soho, nominated several times for awards and in the best 50 bars in the world until 2012 and bar school of the best Mixologist, where he started as a barman in 2011 and then became the General Manager.
In 2015 arrives in Mayfair, at COYA, Peruvian restaurant and private club of international renown, winner of numerous life style awards and named in 2016 "Hottest Restaurant in London".
In 2017 he was called by ETM group for the opening of a Rooftop bar & restaurant in the heart of the city, The Aviary in the new Montcalm hotel, serving seasonal cocktails using mainly KM 0 and organic products.
Winner of several competitions, including El Dorado Rum Challenge, Best Bloody Mary in UK (2 times), Cauroon Gin Cocktail Cup and Licor 43 Cocktail, among his signature cocktails offers the Gin & Tonic old fashioned, in which he joined two of the more popular drinks, turning the classic gin and tonic into a sophisticated drink with lively flavors; Stinging Bee, or pungent bee, twist on a classic called bees knees and Giny Hendrick's, a funky twist of a classic gin fizz.
