Andy Warhol in the Uffizi Gallery

In the shots by Aurelio Amendola, the Pop Art icon for the first time in the world's most prestigious gallery.

It opens Friday, March 4, in the Sala del Camino in the Uffizi main floor, the exhibition entitled "Andy Warhol photographed by Aurelio Amendola. New York in 1977 and 1986 ". In all, the exhibition of 10 images - the result of two different "meetings" in the Factory of the Big Apple, including Pistoia's internationally renowned photographer and artist symbol of pop art - ten color and two black and white. Just one of these two photographs, taken in 1986, a few months before the death of the artist, will be donated by Amendola to the Florentine museum and, practically, will mark the entry of Andy Warhol in the Uffizi.
Photography, selected by Antonio Natali for the donation, portrays Warhol in thoughtful expression, concentrated, and duotone, which leaves little room for gray, helps to make it even more dramatic tones of the image. Accompanied by a catalog published by FMR, the exhibition will run until April 10, 2016 and will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8.15 to 18.50, with the note of access to the Uffizi Gallery.
