In Florence comes the international recognition Rinascimento+

In the splendid Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, Sunday, February 23, at 11 am. An event signed by the Museo Novecento in collaboration with MUS.E delivery

In Florence the passion for collecting contemporary art returns to shine through. In the city of the Medici, RINASCIMENTO + was born, an international recognition that the Museo Novecento in collaboration with MUS.E gives to eminent personalities of collecting and patronage for their support to art and artists.

In this first edition, the prize is awarded to Laurent Asscher, Paolo Fresco, Ursula Hauser and Rosella Nesi for the visionary, generous and dedicated work they have done over time in various forms of patronage and collecting, to increase cultural well-being, training and artistic experimentation.

They will receive the jewel Crisalide di Sole, designed and made by Maria Sole Ferragamo, a young designer who inherited from her grandfather Salvatore Ferragamo the sense of beauty and innovation in shapes and materials. The ceremony will be held in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, Sunday 23rd February, at 11am.

"The name chosen, RINASCIMENTO +, refers to the magnificence of art passed in a non-static vision of continuity and transformation," explains Sergio Risaliti, artistic director of the Museo Novecento, creator of the initiative "RINASCIMENTO + talks about art and artists, collectors and patrons, the taste for beauty, its regeneration and transcending the ages, the continuous rebirth of love for art and the perpetuation of innovative creativity from generation to generation.

These are the historical and critical premises at the origin of Rinascimento+. The idea of this international prize, which is also an acknowledgement of the noble history of collecting and an idea of the Renaissance as an open category, as an unfinished narrative, starts from the Museo Novecento. A tribute to the continuous transformation of creative languages, to the love of art, to the passions of the collector.

The first edition of Rinascimento+

RINASCIMENTO + was conceived by Sergio Risaliti, artistic director of the Museo Novecento, who in the selection was assisted by Giovanni Iovane, art critic and curator, director of the Accademia di Brera, Laura Lombardi, art critic, correspondent of Il Giornale dell'Arte, professor of Phenomenology of Contemporary Arts at the Accademia di Brera and Giorgio Verzotti, art critic, curator at the Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea, director of Arte Fiera from 2012 to 2016.
