Museums, libraries, cinemas and theatres closed in Florence and all over Italy until April 13

New anti-contamination measures launched by the Council of Ministers require the closure of all museums and places of culture.

"From today, cinemas, theatres, concerts, museums will be closed throughout Italy. A necessary and painful choice. But culture can arrive in homes. I ask the TVs to program music, theatre, cinema, art and all cultural operators to make the most of their social and sites". Dario Franceschini, Minister of Cultural Heritage, writes this on twitter.

In Florence, therefore, and throughout Italy, civic and state museums, municipal libraries and the archives of the City of Florence are closed from Sunday, March 8, until April 13, as provided by the Decree of the Prime Minister of April 1, 2020.

The measure also concerns cinemas and theatres.
