Sanremo 2024, a bit of Tuscany on the Ariston stage

Emma, Irama, Bnkr 44 and all the other artists taking part in the musical kermesse starting on 6 February

The most eagerly awaited music festival of the year is on the starting blocks with five evenings ready to hold and amaze. Live as usual from Sanremo's Ariston Theatre, from 6 to 10 February, the appointment with the Sanremo Festival returns.

30 artists in the competition between young and big and five co-hosts taking turns alongside Amadeus. Marco Mengoni, winner of last year's edition with the song Due vite, is the first musical super guest and opens the new Sanremo edition as co-host of the first evening. A special Sanremo that sees the return to the stage of pianist Giovanni Allevi after more than two years of silence on the second evening of 7 February, hosted by singer Giorgia.

On Thursday evening, Amadeus is joined by Sicilian comedian Teresa Mannino, and it is an opportunity to hear all the competing singers again. On Friday, during the evening of covers co-hosted by Lorella Cuccarini, the competing artists do not sing the song they brought to the festival, but perform a cover or medley alongside other non-competing singers. Among these are many faces from our region, which are added to the Tuscan quota already in the competition.

Francesco Gabbani Sanremo 2020

On the night of duets on the Ariston stage, the Fiorella Mannoia and Francesco Gabbani pairing returns. The Roman performer, who is competing this year, wanted the Tuscan singer-songwriter at her side, who won in 2017, beating her right in the final. The two perform Che sia benedetta and Occidentali's karma together.

Gianna Nannini

Annalisa, one of the artists most highly rated by bookmakers for victory, has chosen the Artemia choir and the Tuscan-Sicilian duo La Rappresentante di Lista. The singer Veronica Lucchesi was born in Pisa and grew up in Viareggio, and is ready to bring all her energy back to the stage after her incredible performance with Ciao ciao in 2022. Sienese rocker Gianna Nannini, often a guest but never competing at the Festival, returns this year alongside Rose Villain for a medley.

We will also hear the new music of the Empolese band Bnkr44, all the rock of Emma - who spent her early childhood in Sesto Fiorentino, then moved with her family to Aradeo, in the province of Lecce, her parents' town of origin - and of Irama from Carrara, also Tuscan by birth, but who moved to Monza when he was eight years old.
