The great bronze of Ivan Theimer in Arezzo

The exhibition curated by Vittorio Sgarbi, Il sogno di Theimer (The dream of Theimer), until October 23 at the Galleria Comunale d’Arte Contemporanea and the Fortezza Medicea

Il sogno di Theimer (The Theimer dream), Arezzo until October 23, exhibition of Moldovan naturalized French, Ivan Theimer, develops in two prestigious locations: the Galleria Comunale d'Arte Contemporanea in Piazza San Francesco, where are hosted oils, watercolors and drawings, and the sixteenth-century Fortezza Medicea, which is reopening its doors after restoration lasted six years.

In the basement of the Fortezza, it spreads a path of great bronze, greeted by large turtles, continue in the "forest of obelisks", and then Arion with dolphin, horses, men, children, sketches of monumental works made for the most important squares 'Europe, the monuments of Paris dedicated to human rights and of the woman, the plaque to the victims of the Holocaust with the Western wall made of faces, until you meet a wonderful Hercules supporting an obelisk.

In the works of Theimer is ritrovane the Tuscan mannerism, but also symbolism and classicism of the old age, the Egyptian civilization up to the greek-Roman.
His monumental works, especially obelisks, are located in several squares in Europe.

The exhibition is signed by Vittorio Sgarbi, and was proposed by Giovanni Raspini, friend of the artist, who has fully sponsored, and that the mayor Alessandro Ghinelli has called "the greatest cultural event of Arezzo."

Hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm, free entry
