Free guided tours through the beauties of Florence
Discovering an undiscovered and secret city through unmissable tours
With the reopening of the museums in the Zona Gialla, the exhibitions are reopening and the guided tours are resuming.
Let's start with the civic museums, which have resumed their guided tours by reservation - lasting 50 minutes - in small groups and in complete safety (reservation required. Info: 055-2768224 or firstname.lastname@example.org). The visits are free of charge for holders of the Florentine Card (a maximum of three annuets), for the disabled and accompanying persons, for children under 18, for tour guides and for members of ICOM, ICOMOS and ICCROM; for residents of the Metropolitan City of Florence they cost €2.50, for non-residents €5.00.
Other art experiences in the heart of Florence not to be missed:
Theatrical walks to discover the places of the great writers of the 19th and 20th centuries. From Collodi's birthplace to the neighbourhoods described by Vasco Pratolini, from Dostoevsky's favourite places to the hotel where George Eliot stayed and the palace where Manzoni stayed. The route from one home to another will be enriched by other literary memories and brief stops of cultural interest: from the Santa Maria Novella district where Percy Bysshe Shelley stayed to the Santa Croce district where Piero Bargellini lived.
Until Sunday 28 February three appointments a week.
Between Beauty and Faith
The calendar of guided tours organised by the Scuola di Arte Sacra di Firenze (School of Sacred Art of Florence) with the Municipality of Florence will start on Saturday 6 February until 13 March, thanks to the contribution of Giovanni Matteo Guidetti, art historian and teacher at the School and Paola Migliosi, national manager of Confguide. There are six routes through art, history, theology and liturgy that involve the visitor in as many itineraries seen and experienced with different eyes, to the knowledge of "unusual" places, but also to the "unusual" knowledge of highly attractive places. Guided tours are free of charge. To book please call 055 350376 / +39 3534057340 or write to email@example.com.
