Passion on the road

Alberto Peragnoli owner of Peragnoliscar, with his brother Carlo and Giovanni Gradi

Alberto Peragnoli

How long have you been dealing in cars? Is it a passion or a family tradition?

For over thirty years, and I’d say it’s a passion. But I’m also aware of the valuable asset that a family business represents that it should not be wasted.

How does your work make you feel?

Actually, the first thing that comes to mind is a feeling of uneasiness, when a customer asks me for a car and talks about it as if it were an appliance.

What is your next professional goal?

To make our companies employee-friendly places. Only companies where workers feel at ease can experience the authentic innovation of a product and of a process.

Which car is the best for getting around Florence?

In a metropolis cars are looked down upon. Our company is known primarily for Volvo vehicles, even though we also sell Subarus, Ssangyongs, Lotuses, Jaguars and Land Rovers. So, why not consider a Volvo XC60 T8, a car that guarantees passive and active safety, is a Twin-engine Hybrid and has a near-zero environmental impact?

Tips for dinner and after dinner?

It’s difficult chose one place. Historical restaurants, such as Buca Mario or the Ristorante del Fagioli in Corso Tintori. But I would also recommend Irene, inside the Savoy Hotel. The service is excellent and the staff very polite. Then you can and find yourself standing in Piazza della Repubblica.

What would you suggest a visitor of Florence not miss?

The Opera del Duomo or Palazzo Davanzati, then I would enjoy a view over the city’s rooftops. There are many places that afford great views, where sip an aperitif or have dinner.
