Elisa Burlamacchi and her jewel-like handbags made in Florence

Let's discover together the brand that exalts the finest workmanship of leather and the Florentine goldsmith's art

Elisa Burlamacchi

How did your love of handbags start?

Accessories, and bags in particular, are essential items for their practical function, but they’re also life companions, since they’re with us at every moment of the day. What’s more, a bag can characterise an entire outfit, so it’s a determining factor for the user’s style.

What’s the style of your creations?

Elisa Burlamacchi is a brand that focuses on sophisticated classical shapes, in the very best Italian style. We seek to offer those who choose our collections timeless elegance, looking to the future but with solid roots in longstanding nobility. EB bags seek to inspire us and bring out the nobility that lies within us.

Why are they described as ‘jewel bags’?

Elisa Burlamacchi handbags stand out for their made in Italy excellence. Superb craftsmanship that’s stunning all over, especially on the rear of the bag, where there’s an EB branded gold-plated tag set with a diamond, symbol of uniqueness and exclusivity. We source the diamonds from the famous Ponte Vecchio in Florence, and they’re mounted by hand at Torre dell’Orafo, in business since the 13th century.

What materials do you prefer?

We select the very best materials directly from Tuscany, and choose superior calfskin and exotic leathers (python and crocodile).

Your family has ancient and aristocratic Tuscan roots. Which places are linked to your history?

Piazza San Michele in Lucca, where there’s a statue of the politician and governor Francesco Burlamacchi, who was declared a ‘forerunner of Italian unity’ during the Risorgimento.
