Let's get to know better the young doctor selected by the well-known photographer to represent the region

What drove you to take part in the toscana di Toscani contest ?

My volleyball coach advised me to take part in the contest. He told me that they were looking for a female figure to represent Tuscany and women for an important event by Regione Toscana and Toscana Promozione Turistica devoted to women. I’m not social-media savvy and I don’t like to show off, I would have never participated in a beauty contest. I agreed to it because I’m very proud to be Tuscan, to be a woman and I support women’s rights.

How did your first meeting with Oliviero Toscani go?

A bit hurried, I had just got out of my hospital shift, but it was a lovely experience.

What female figure has been an inspiration to you?

I’m inspired by all those female doctors who are, first of all, mothers and women, and are able to balance personal and professional life, always giving their best.

What do you like the most about Tuscany?

I love my homeland, Mugello, the place and the people, so genuine and with a strong sense of community spirit. Tuscans are all like this: each different from one another, but all fun, proud of their origins, romantic, outspoken, with sense of humor and committed.

Please tell us something about yourself: your job and passions.

At present, I’m a resident doctor training in Paediatrics in Pisa. I’ve always dreamt of becoming a doctor and I chose paediatrics because it involves the care of children and their families in every way. I play volleyball and I enjoy playing the piano when I have time.
