I Vini di Maremma presents Le Muse dell’Alchimia: the new line of wine-based spirits
A new frontier in drinking: nine wine spirits for the mixology of the future
Tradition and experimentation come together in the Tuscan Maremma. The historic winery I Vini di Maremma, a cooperative based on the outskirts of Grosseto, is embarking on a bold new venture: Le Muse dell'Alchimia, a line of wine-based spirits that combines research, creativity, and winemaking expertise.
Created in collaboration with Turin-based startup The Spiritual Machine, which specializes in the creation of tailor-made spirits and bitters, Le Muse dell'Alchimia offers nine products designed for contemporary mixology: bitters, cinchona wine, vermouth, and a selection of ready-to-drink cocktails—from Negroni to Glögg—all made from wine. The goal? To build a bridge between the tradition of wine and the innovative language of cocktails, opening up new scenarios for those who love to experiment and experience taste as an experience.
Le Muse dell’Alchimia, I Vini di MaremmaFor the Maremma winery—a cooperative that brings together around 210 members and 450 hectares of vineyards—this line does not represent a change of direction, but a natural development of its identity.
“We want to complete the range, not replace it,” explains Donata Vieri, general manager. This evolution responds to the desire to engage with different audiences: from more traditional wine lovers to those who are approaching the world of wine through cocktail culture. As Matteo Fornaca, CEO of The Spiritual Machine, points out, “Italian wineries have a hidden treasure: the possibility of breathing new life into wine through unprecedented forms of creativity and experimentation.”
I Vini di MaremmaIn this initial phase, production of Le Muse dell'Alchimia is deliberately limited—only a few hundred bottles—in order to carefully explore the market. The line is currently available at the company's store in Il Cristo, a few kilometers from Grosseto, but will soon also be distributed in selected restaurants, cocktail bars, and establishments. International interest has been immediate: requests are already coming in from France, Canada, and China, a sign of a project capable of speaking a global language. The goal? To increase production by 30% over the next two years.
In addition to its products, Le Muse dell'Alchimia represents a new way of communicating wine. A more fluid, experiential, and contemporary language, capable of engaging a young audience without sacrificing the depth of the territory. It is an invitation to look at the Maremma with different eyes: not only a land of great wines, but a laboratory of ideas where terroir, technique, and creativity merge in a story of modern alchemy.
