Art films, premieres, international guests and much more. In Florence, November 12 to 16

The seventh edition of The Screen of the Film Festival will be held in Florence November 12 to 16. Directed by Silvia Lucchesi is a unique project in Italy and explores the complex relationship between cinema and art through moving images.

The program Focus on Hito Steyerl, artist and filmmaker among the most acclaimed in the world of visual arts; the screening of works from the Pinault Collection by Yael Bartana, Cinthia Marcelle, Shirin Neshat; cinema artist Liam Gillick, Shahryar Nashat., Marine Hugonnier, Phillip Warnell, Amie Siegel; Previews Cutie and the Boxer, a documentary nominated for an Oscar in 2014, and films about artists Ai Weiwei, Ylya and Emilia Kabakov, Michael Heizer, Gordon Matta-Clark, Ulay, Guido van der Werve, Meret Oppenheim; meetings, workshops and residencies that will involve artists, filmmakers, curators and directors of international institutions.

Confirm the traditional sections: Looks previews of documentaries on stories and protagonists of contemporary art; Art films; Festival Talks; Focus on; the third edition of VISIO European Workshop on Artists' Moving Images, with the addition of the first edition of VISIO Residency Program.

They will be held, as well as at the Odeon Cinema in some local cultural institutions such as the Institut français Florence, Villa Romana, The Walled Projects Contemporary Art Palace Art of Judges and Notaries.
