Discover all the Florentine museums open and free on Liberation Day

On Thursday 25 April, the anniversary of the Liberation of Italy, many Florentine museums are open, adhering to the Ministry of Culture's initiative and guaranteeing free entry to all visitors.

Free special opening hours at the Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens. All the spaces are accessible during the usual visiting hours; the last entrance is one hour before closing time. In addition to 25 April and the first Sunday of each month, further free openings are scheduled for 2 June, Republic Day, and 4 November, Armed Forces Day. Also worth mentioning are the extraordinary openings on Mondays (normally a closed day) for the Galleria delle Statue e delle Pitture and the Boboli Gardens, scheduled for 29 April, 24 June (Feast Day of St. John, the city's patron saint) and 30 December. Finally, not to be forgotten are the evening openings every Tuesday until 17 December at the Uffizi Gallery: on these occasions the museum remains accessible in the evening, offering visitors the magical experience of masterpieces of art to be admired in the light of sunset.
