Discovering the emotional art of Inna Morozova
His exhibition A Florentine Dream at the Hotel Savoy in Florence until 25 October
How did you approach the art world?
My artistic journey began with academic training, studying at three academies in Saint Petersburg and now in Florence, where I reside. Academic foundations, anatomy, and composition hold great significance for me, and I continually strive to enhance my skills and explore new techniques.
How important was Florence in your growth process?
Florence has allowed me to discover not only the world around me but also my true self, leading to a fascinating and joyful journey. Though there may be moments of crisis, Florence consistently lifts me up, embraces me, and encourages me to embrace life’s beauty.
How did the A Florentine Dream project come about?
Since my first day in Florence, I’ve delighted in capturing the reality I cherish through my surrealistic fantasies. When I paint en plein air, I perceive the Santo Spirito fountain as ocean waves, clouds as caramel bubbles, dresses as if they were taken from Botticelli’s paintings, and buildings as expressive faces. These dreams have accompanied me since childhood, and as an adult, I now bring them to life.
Where do you find inspiration for your works?
I find it everywhere, in emotions, architecture, energy, and people, in beauty. This is why Florence is the ideal place. You also have a jewellery collection, how did this project come about?
During a solo journey through Georgia, I stumbled upon enamel, an incredible ancient jewelry-making technique. Enameling allowed me to merge the uniqueness and selectivity of my paintings with the craftsmanship of jewelry. And where I created my IM ART jewellery collection. This collection is art on a hand, I do only unique pieces!
