A magical autumn at Castello di Casole

Sunday lunch and Picnic: appointments not to be missed in this enchanting corner of paradise in the heart of Tuscany

Wrapped up in the Sienese countryside, Castello di Casole - property of the Belmond Group - is one of the oldest resorts in the heart of the Tuscan countryside as well as one of the largest estates in Italy, with no less than 1,700 hectares of land.

Castello di Casole

Its origins date back to 998 A.D.: the structure is deeply rooted in its agricultural past dating back to the Bronze Age, but a series of excavations that took place in the period 1870-1875 brought to light a large number of artifacts from the Etruscan age, which are now exhibited in the Library and the Spa of Casole Castle.

The Castle has experienced a new era of glamor in the 50s and 70s when it was purchased by Count Edoardo Visconti di Modrone Erba, brother of the famous film director
Luchino Visconti, who spent his summers right here organizing big parties with movie stars who have become legends.

Even today the estate keeps alive the magic of the time. A breathtaking location that welcomes its guests with enchanting views of the surrounding rolling green hills, magical sunsets, luxury suites and private villas, but unforgettable lunches and dinners. This, thanks to winning initiatives such as the Sunday lunch and the picnic in the garden.

TRUFFLE LUNCH

At Castello di Casole, for every Sunday in October, the Truffle Lunch will be served on the enchanting terrace of the Tosca Restaurant, from which there is a breathtaking view of the Tuscan countryside.

Executive Chef Daniele Sera has created a genuine menu that features black truffles, which can also be found in the woods on the property, to ensure diners a pleasant autumn Sunday. On the menu, among the many proposals, the egg with parmesan and truffle mousse, the classic tagliolini with truffle, the Tosca fillet, signature dish of Castello di Casole and, finally, a dessert of the Chef's choice.
