Andrea Bocelli at the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico

On 22 and 24 July, "The Mystery of Beauty" will be staged

After a year's stop, Il Teatro del Silenzio, the musical kermesse of Andrea Bocelli, which has become a reference point in the theatrical and musical world at international level and takes place in the suggestive scenery of the hills of Lajatico in the province of Pisa, is back.

On the evenings of 22 and 24 July, the tenor will stage "Il mistero della bellezza" (The mystery of beauty), with the help of 6 very talented and technical dancers selected by Antonio Desiderio Artist Management.
The sixteenth edition of the Teatro del Silenzio will reinterpret opera music, making it a memorable journey, to be taken together with Bocelli himself. The setlist will be dedicated to the operas Otello and Tosca, with part of the show featuring Believe, Andrea Bocelli's latest album released in November 2020.
The orchestra will be for the first time "Orchestra Teatro del Silenzio" made up of 60 young and experienced musicians from different Italian regions. The orchestra's artistic direction has been entrusted to Marco Marchesi, a former musician with a background in the classical world.

Manolo Valdés, a giant of world sculpture, will be responsible for the set design of the Teatro del Silenzio with his Clio Dorada: a monumental ten-metre-high sculpture in gold-plated brass and stainless steel, which will stand out against the artificial lake that marks the well-known open-air stage. The Clio Dorada is one of Valdés' famous "heads": elegant figures of ladies, majestic heads with feminine features set in bronze and brass, with simplified faces and necks and singular elements towering over the head.
Lajatico has never stopped," said the director of the Teatro del Silenzio, Alberto Bartalini, "but this year it is coming back in its entirety, thanks to the Teatro del Silenzio and the many initiatives that will keep our beautiful village alive, also with art".
