The Blue Flags for summer 2018

The Tuscany is second in Italy for the number of doc beaches, awarded with the Blue Flag, the international recognition of the Foundation for Environmental Education (Fee) Italy. To submit the application were 163 Italian municipalities. If Liguria is confirmed in first place with twenty locations this year to follow is Tuscany with 18 Blue Flags, one more than last year (when he finished third), due to the inclusion in the ranking of Marciana Marina, the island of Elba.

The coasts rewarded are: Marina di Carrara Carrara-center (Massa-Carrara); Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta, Camaiore, Viareggio (Lucca); Marina di Pisa-Pisa, Calambrone Tirrenia (Pisa); Livorno Antignano, Quercianella, Rosignano Maritime-Castiglioncello, Vada, Cecina-Marina, The Gorette Bibbona-Marina, Castagneto Carducci, San Vincenzo and Piombino-Parkland Sterpaia, Marciana Marina-The Phoenician (Livorno); Follonica, Castiglione, Grosseto-Marina di Grosseto, Principina sea, Monte Argentario (Grosseto).

This year's event honored the places where the bathing water is found to be excellent, as determined by the results of the analysis that over the past four years, ARPA (Regional Agency for Environmental Protection) performed in ' framework of the National Program of monitoring conducted by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment.
