10 events not to be missed this week in Florence and Tuscany

What to do in and around Florence from 19 to 25 September 2022

Art, concerts, shows and good food. Here are the events not to be missed this week in and around Florence.

Back from 24 September to 2 October in the sumptuous Palazzo Corsini is the Biennale Internazionale dell'Antiquariato, the oldest market exhibition in the world and an absolute reference point for great Italian art. The halls of Palazzo Corsini will host around 80 galleries with a new layout by interior designer Matteo Corvino. Many Italian and international antique dealers bring the best of paintings from every era, drawings, sculptures and much more.

From 22 September 2022 to 23 January 2023, the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi presents Nel tuo tempo (In Your Time), a major exhibition that involves all the Renaissance rooms of the palazzo through the works of Olafur Eliasson, one of the most original and visionary contemporary artists, whose multifaceted production has embraced installations, paintings, sculptures, photography and moving images throughout his career.

From 23 September 2022 until 15 January 2023 at the Museo Novecento, in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella 10, Tony Cragg, one of the most important contemporary sculptors, will be the protagonist with Transfer: Thoughts to Things, the major monographic exhibition curated by Sergio Risaliti and Stefania Rispoli presenting a selection of sculptures and works on paper. For the first time, three monumental sculptures will be exhibited in the cloister of the Museo Novecento. The project, absolutely unprecedented, is conceived as a mediation tool aimed at presenting not only the works (sculptures and drawings) but also the artist's creative process.
