Pitti Uomo 103 at the Fortezza da Basso from 10 to 13 January 2023

All the novelties and guests at the men's event that brings with it the desire to discover and experiment

The winter edition of Pitti Uomo takes place at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence from 10 to 13 January 2023. Four days during which the reference event for men's fashion and lifestyle hosts the protagonists of international menswear, the leading brands and the most innovative projects, with a programme of previews, events and appointments not to be missed.

Also at this edition, the focus is on the exhibition route in the Fortezza, which shows a complete preview of the new men's collections. And that's not all. Pitti Uomo pushes its proposal forward and expands its itinerary, with special projects that intercept the new desires of today's lifestyle. The return of I GO OUT, the section dedicated to the world of outdoor clothing research, goes in this direction. The sections Fantastic Classic, Futuro Maschile, Dynamic Attitude, Superstyling, and the S|Style area focused on eco-responsible fashion are confirmed and enriched with protagonists, to which are added two absolute novelties: the special areas "the SIGN" and "PITTIPETS", which broaden the confines of the event, enriching it with content.

Pitti Uomo thus confirms itself as an exhibition capable of creating ever new connections between different but not distant worlds: a crossover of fashion and lifestyle, offering the reference community an ever broader and more current range of contents and proposals.

PITTIWAY: the new theme of the Pitti Immagine winter fairs

Restarting is everyone's wish, but deciding the direction, getting your bearings, making choices is not easy. Indications, stimuli and needs do not always converge, and the proceeding cannot be linear. PITTIWAY, the theme of the next Pitti Immagine winter fairs, is the result of the joint work of creatives and artists, coordinated by creative director Angelo Figus. PITTIWAY interprets today's moods and aspirations, transforming them into the leitmotif of the advertising campaigns and displays at the Fortezza da Basso.
"PITTIWAY underlines the many choices we are led to evaluate in order to emerge from the complicated global gridlock," says Agostino Poletto, Pitti Immagine's general director. "In this moment that is not easy, but also creative, innovative, different, the Pitti Immagine fairs will be a compass to define new directions, to hypothesise paths, to consider choices and then to start again. In the Fortezza there will be lines, arrows, curves, inversions on which to surf to go fast. A sometimes contradictory signpost that demonstrates an inexhaustible energy: the same energy that leads towards new directions, still all possible, of the future".

The Guests of Pitti Uomo 103

Guest Designer is MARTINE ROSE

The Anglo-Jamaican-born designer presents a preview in Florence of the Autumn-Winter 2023-24 collection of her eponymous label, through a special event - on Thursday 12 January - in a space yet to be revealed. "I am very honoured to participate in the upcoming Pitti Uomo in January. Pitti has always been at the forefront of celebrating the best menswear, and many of the designers I respect most have been a part of it. Together with my team we are excited to come to Florence, a city I love, to present our new collection!" Martine Rose

JAN-JAN VAN ESSCHE is the Designer Project

The Belgian designer will bring his concept of fluid and essential fashion to Florence during a unique event scheduled for Wednesday 11 January. "It will be my brand's first ever fashion show, a special event in any case, and being able to organise it in the unique atmosphere of a city like Florence makes it even more special, something I could only dream of." And again among this edition's Special Projects:

  • PIERRE-LOUIS MASCIA presents PHILOCALIE at Palazzo Antinori

In addition to participating in Fortezza da Basso, on Wednesday 11 January - from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the setting of Palazzo Antinori - Pierre-Louis Mascia will present the special event PHILOCALIE, an anthology that encompasses nature, culture, art and fashion and that finds expression in the fabrics created by Achille Pinto, who in 2023 will celebrate fifteen years of partnership with the brand. During the event - where the Fall Winter 2023/24 collection will be presented - guests will have the opportunity to attend an experiential installation inside an extraordinary venue such as Palazzo Antinori.

  • PALAZZO FINLAND presents the VAIN brand

PALAZZO FINLANDESE's series of events, launched by Juni Communications and SSAW Magazine, returns at Pitti Uomo 103. In January, the special presentation of the AW23 collection by VAIN, the interdisciplinary design project founded in 2019 in Helsinki by artist and creative director Jimi Vain, which fully represents what it means to be creative in the digital age: combining quality materials, a gothic aesthetic inspired by rap culture, metal and nu metal and bold silhouettes, the AW23 collection is an ode to the rural Finland of the early 2000s that Jimi Vain experienced.

  • The world of CHATEAU ORLANDO at the Hall of Nations

Chateau Orlando, a brand of clothing, accessories, home décor and lifestyle born from the creative idea of English artist and designer Luke Edward Hall, presents its eclectic world for the first time at Pitti Uomo with a special installation at the Sala delle Nazioni, revealing its romantic, irreverent inspiration and an aesthetic of colour contrasts and geometric patterns. A magical place somewhere between literary enchantment and realism, an eclectic mix of classical and contemporary art, ancient villas and lush gardens, music, vintage clothes, folklore and mythology, flowers, books and travel.
