Founded in 1882, it is one of the historic restaurants in the city. It began as the former sacristy of the Baptistery of San Giovanni, Florence's ancient cathedral before Santa Reparata was built. It later became the haunt of famous personalities such as the Prince of Bulgaria, who celebrated his bachelorette party, and President J.F. Kennedy's stopover. The restaurant is open for lunch from 11:30 to 15:00 and offers a typical Tuscan menu with a wide choice of dishes including appetisers, soups and first courses, meat and traditional Italian musts.
