Art and design return to the Fortezza da Basso from 23 to 31 October

The doors of the Fortezza da Basso open to host the XIII Forence Biennale 2021: 465 exhibitors from 5 continents, for a fair event that this year will be enriched by important special awards to Michelangelo Pistoletto, Vivienne Westwood and Oliviero Toscani.

Vivienne Westwood

The theme of the Biennial is the multicoloured and multiform universe of femininity, which will be investigated in its many facets, starting with two main guidelines, one looking at the past and the other casting an attentive eye on the future.

Many guests from other worlds - design, architecture, music - will be present. - who, for this edition, have created ad hoc works of art.

The symbol of the Biennial is the work by Michelangelo Pistoletto and Angelo Savarese, The Flag of the World - 1+1=3, which occupies the central space of the Cavaniglia Pavilion, composed through a collective performance, to exhort us to "think globally act locally, to love differences to save the feminine that welcomes all biodiversity: planet Earth".
