The best hamburgers in Florence

The quintessential places to enjoy a tasty American sandwich in the city

Tradition and some of the best meat in the world are the basis of the most popular burgers in Florence. Here are the places to visit if you are in the area

Here are the restaurants offering gluten-free dishes and sandwiches in the city, here is our guide to the best restaurants in the city.

Lungarno 23
Lungarno Torrigiani, 23
ph. +39 055 2345957

Not far from Ponte Vecchio, this place is a real institution in the city, here everything is taken care of in the smallest detail: the meat is certified Chianina Igp, the sesame bread is handmade, the tomato and salad are always fresh and even the potatoes and the oil to fry them are carefully chosen. In addition to evergreens such as the Classico or the Zelante (a double hamburger), we recommend you try the combinations with seasonal ingredients, such as fresh porcini mushrooms or white truffles. The special of the season? The one with pumpkin flowers in tempura and gorgonzola sauce. For true gourmets.

Lungarno 23

Drogheria Bar & Grill
Largo Pietro Annigoni, 22
ph. +39 055 2478869

Undoubtedly one of the best burgers in Florence, they are prepared with Mugello meat, artisan bread with Tuscan DOP certification of 4 types: multi-grain, classic sesame, black bread with charcoal and gluten-free, accompanied by potato chips and homemade sauces. Very tasty proposals such as the Nova York, with crispy bacon, cheese, grilled sweet onions and barbecue sauce or the Supertoscanaccio, with wild mushrooms, ham, Mugello pecorino cheese and roasted Tuscan bread or even the Hambriaco cooked in Chianti. Also worth considering for the wide selection of veg and fish burgers.

Joe's American BBQ
Florence Central Market

Joe Bastianich's Joe's American BBQ brings to the first floor of the Mercato Centrale the "low&slow", or slow cooking at low temperature, a tribute to the most authentic traditional culture of the United States of America. Compared to Milan, there are big novelties on the menu: for the first time in Italy, alongside the classic BBQ grades such as brisket, pulled pork and beef ribs, the smash burger, a special cooking technique for the patty, the meatball, which is crushed with a weight during cooking to make it crispy and succulent at the same time. On the upper floor of the shop we also find the Vineria Bastianich with wines from the family's cellars: those of Cantina Bastianich and the bottles produced by La Mozza, the wine cellar immersed in the splendid setting of the Tuscan Maremma, in Magliano (HERE is our video-interview with Joe Bastianich to find out all the news).

La Toraia
Central Market of San Lorenzo
ph. +39 335 692 0108

We are immersed in the beautiful setting of the largest indoor market in Florence, an impressive work that alone deserves a visit, even more if you taste an excellent Chianina burger of short chain. Among the cult the so-called "magnificent": cult burgers rotating every three months made with products according to seasonality, such as the one with pecorino cheese with Cinta Senese bacon.

Bar, cafeteria, wine bar and store, ToscaNino is a concept store all exclusively "made in Tuscany" inside the Rinascente in Florence with a magnificent terrace overlooking the rooftops of Florence. The menu, as you can guess from the name, includes a series of dishes that enhance the Tuscan tradition with more international grafts that give life to delicious dishes such as their Tosca Burger (consisting of beef, eggplant, avocado and spirulina sauce) served with French fries or Nino Burger (consisting of beef, pecorino cheese, caramelized onions, mayonnaise, tomato and rigatino) also served with French fries.

TOSCANINO - LA RINASCENTE

Aviation
Viale Malta, 4
ph. +39 055 5381058

Many people know this American-style restaurant for its fabulous pizza by the meter, but it is the Chianina hamburger to be the master, better if enjoyed with chips, fried vegetables and one of the many craft beers offered on the menu. Among the burgers, we recommend some very special ones, such as Cinta Senese or Chianina burgers with truffles.

L'Aviazione

Hard Rock Café
Via dei Brunelleschi, 1
ph. +39 055 277841

The meat of the burgers that are served at the Hard Rock Cafe in Florence is of certified Irish Angus, fed on grass and cereals that make it more "marbled" thus increasing the flavor of the meat. For the preparation of the burgers, the finest cuts of meat - Chuck, Brisket and Flat Iron - are chosen and are 100% natural without any additions. The brioche bun that accompanies the meat is fresh. Don't miss the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with spices, homemade barbecue sauce, crispy onions, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato; the Original Legendary Burger with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, onion rings, lettuce and tomato; and the Double Deck Double Cheeseburger with double burgers and American cheese, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato and red onion
