The best Brunches in Florence

Check out our top list of must-see Sunday events in the city!

Sundays in Florence are all about slow lunches, family gatherings and lots of relaxation and fun. Some people prefer to organise nice out-of-town trips with friends or relatives (here you can find our best suggestions on where to eat around Florence), others cannot give up a good lunch in a trattoria (here you can find the best ones in town), while others prefer to indulge in a light and elegant lunch, or a brunch in places full of history and charm.

Let's discover together those not to be missed, according to your tastes and preferences.

Four Seasons Hotel Firenze - Il Palagio
Borgo Pinti, 99
ph. +39 0552626450

With the arrival of autumn, the city's most famous Sunday brunch is back, that of the Four Seasons Firenze, a must for those who want to spend a cheerful day. On Sunday mornings, in fact, Il Palagio and the Atrium Bar are transformed into a banquet dressed up for the occasion, where guests can help themselves between the various stations passing through the hotel's beautiful rooms, including behind the scenes in the kitchen. An Italian-style brunch that changes with the seasons, but where there is never a shortage of great classics such as Risotto and pasta, Bollito piemontese with salsa verde, Arista di maiale all'uva, Porchetta, but also plenty of Crudo di pesce, Ombrina al forno and Ventresca di tonno in teriyaki sauce, to name but a few. Tables laden with mouth-watering delights wrap around the halls, and continue into the Capponi Room where you can lose yourself in the sweeter delights. Price per person 120 euro.

Winter Garden - The St. Regis Florence
Piazza Ognissanti, 1
ph. +39 055 27163770

Winter Garden, the place of choice for hospitality and gastronomy within The St. Regis Florence hotel, presents not a real brunch but an all-day menu that enhances and brings to the fore the great cuisine of the territory, through the epicurean creations of Executive Chef Gentian Shehi. Sunday is the ideal time to taste the Bloody Lobster Lunch (55 euro), the perfect combination for a delicate and tasty lunch that combines the delicacy of Pacchero with lobster - one of the Chef's favourite dishes - with the strong flavour of the Bloody Mary cocktail, an icon of the St Regis brand. If you are looking for a breathtaking view, you can also enjoy the same dish at the SE-STO on Arno Rooftop Bar at the Westin Excelsior Florence, famous not only for its excellent cuisine, but also for this breathtaking view over the entire city.

Salotto Portinari Bar & Bistrot
Via del Corso, 6

The cuisine of Salotto Portinari Bar & Bistrot, overseen by Executive Chef Vito Mollica, is a great idea for those in search of an elegant, chic but informal Sunday lunch. A true 'salon' open to the city and dedicated to the Florentines, but also to travellers, invited among gourmet dishes and dizzying drinks to discover the beauty of the Palazzo, and breathe in all its atmosphere even at the table.

Teatro del Sale
Via dei Macci, 111r
ph. +39 055 2001492

The iconic and historic Brunchone is about to return to the Teatro del Sale. So called since time immemorial, it is a Teatro del Sale-style version of brunch, or rather a triumphant lunch. It starts with the grand buffet of vegetables, seasonal and very tasty, designed to make your mouth water. First courses are always two, classic and comforting. We then proceed with a surprise: a small sample of the day, a 'treat' that we like to serve before the main courses and which can be a meatball, a tripe salad or other typically Cibrèo specialities. Then come the real main courses, the famous roasts made on the grill and the rotisserie in the large open kitchen, a real treat. The chicken spit, bacon and sausages are great Branchone classics, as always accompanied by roast potatoes. Finally, the desserts, by now a legend: never miss the 'cialdoni con la panna', loved by all, and another typical dessert, the Cibrèo chocolate cake, which always leaves everyone speechless. Stay tuned for new autumn dates.
