The best brunches in Florence

Check out our top list of must-see Sunday events in the city!

Sundays in Florence are all about slow lunches, family gatherings and lots of relaxation and fun. Some people prefer to organise nice out-of-town trips with friends or relatives (here you can find our best suggestions on where to eat around Florence), others cannot give up a good lunch in a trattoria (here you can find the best ones in town), while others prefer to indulge in a light and elegant lunch, or a brunch in places full of history and charm.

Let's discover together those not to be missed, according to your tastes and preferences.

Four Seasons Hotel Firenze - Il Palagio
Borgo Pinti, 99
ph. +39 0552626450

The Sunday Brunch at the Four Seasons Florence is a must for anyone who wants to spend a day in good cheer. On Sunday mornings, Il Palagio and the Atrium Bar are transformed into a festively decorated banquet hall, where guests can help themselves at various stations scattered throughout the hotel's beautiful rooms, including the chance to peek behind the scenes in the kitchen. An Italian-style brunch that changes with the seasons, but where there is no shortage of great classics such as risotto and pasta, Piedmontese boiled meat with green sauce, pork loin with grapes, porchetta, as well as plenty of raw fish, baked ombrina and tuna belly in teriyaki sauce, to name but a few. The tables, laden with delicious wonders, surround the rooms and continue into the Sala Capponi, where you can lose yourself among sweet delicacies. Brunch costs €135 per person for adults, while children aged 13 to 17 pay €60, those aged 5 to 12 pay €50, and children under 5 eat for free.

Irene (Hotel Savoy)
Piazza della Repubblica, 7
ph. +39 055 2735891

Overlooking Piazza della Repubblica, the Irene restaurant at the Savoy Hotel offers an International Breakfast that has already become something of a cult favourite in the city. It is the brainchild of Fulvio Pierangelini, Chef and Creative Director of Food at Rocco Forte Hotels, who reinterprets Tuscan tradition with contemporary flair and ingredients of the highest quality. The signature dish of this breakfast? Irene's Eggs Carbonara, an Italian tribute to the international breakfast. Organic free-range eggs, pecorino juncu cheese – more delicate and less savoury than the classic Roman variety – and rigatino di cinta senese, a delicacy made from pork from pigs reared in semi-wild conditions in the Tuscan countryside. The result is a creamy, comforting dish that combines comfort and refinement, perfect for a Sunday with family or friends.
