The Ferris wheel returns to Florence

At the Cascine until 10 June the skating rink and the big wheel overlooking the city

Florence is gearing up for a winter filled with magic and fun: starting Friday, November 28, 2025, the Ferris wheel will return to spin in the heart of the city, set up in the gardens of the Fortezza da Basso, alongside the spectacular ice skating rink of the Florence on Ice Village.

After two seasons spent in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the iconic attraction is returning to its original inauguration site, albeit in a different area of the gardens at Piazzale Oriana Fallaci.

With a height of 55 meters and 42 panoramic cabins, the Ferris wheel offers breathtaking views of the city, from the Duomo’s dome to the surrounding hills. The first rides will be available starting November 28 and will continue until April 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension until June for those who want to enjoy the experience in spring.

The attraction will be open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight, and tickets can only be purchased at the ticket office, with the following prices:

  • Full price: €12

  • Reduced (residents of the Municipality of Florence): €10

  • Children under 10: €7

  • Free: children under 2, people with disabilities, and their accompanying persons

Family packages are also available:

  • 2 adults + 1 child under 10: €28

  • 2 adults + 2 children: €34

For schools, until 2 p.m., the price is €5 per student, with the teacher free of charge. More information is available on the official Florence Eye website.

Florence on Ice Village: Ice Rink and Christmas Village

Next to the Ferris wheel, the ice skating rink returns, the longest in Europe, set around the historic fountain in the gardens of the Fortezza da Basso. The rink will be open until January 31, 2026, with the same opening hours as the Ferris wheel, from 10 a.m. to midnight.

Until Epiphany, the Christmas Village will offer:

  • Santa’s House

  • Post office to send letters to Santa

  • Chocolate factory

  • Creative workshops

  • Street food and roasted chestnuts stalls

The Florence on Ice Village and the Ferris wheel are the perfect attractions for families, tourists, and locals who want to experience the magic of the holidays in this iconic city of art.
