A tavola vista mare

Here is an in-depth look at restaurants in Versilia, here is where to eat by the sea in the Maremma, and here is a short guide to the pearls of Castiglioncello and its surroundings!

Ristorante Lorenzo
Via Giosuè Carducci, 61
ph. +39 0584 874030 – +39 0584 89671

There are places that become legends. One of these is the Lorenzo starred restaurant in Forte dei Marmi. For almost 40 years it has been an institution for those who love good cuisine, with fish as the workhorse, but not only, because owner Lorenzo Viani does not compromise on one thing: everything must be fresh and the protagonist of the dish. For many years the kitchen has been headed by Chef Gioacchino Pontrelli, who transforms the raw material with care and passion, without betraying its nature and enhancing its taste. In the two wine lists, one dedicated to domestic and the other to foreign production, you can find more renowned names and more niche labels. Each bottle is then narrated with Lorenzo and his daughter Chiara's passion for the world of wine, and is the ideal complement and accompaniment to the refined proposals of the kitchen.

Ristorante Lorenzo

Viale Achille Franceschi, 29

A corner of paradise on the most exclusive beach, the Maitò restaurant has been a wonderful meeting place for Forte lovers since the 1960s, and over the years it has maintained its characteristics as a typical Versilia restaurant. An elegant and relaxing atmosphere, where you can enjoy not only fish dishes but also appetising meat dishes, pizzas and focaccia baked in a wood-burning oven.

Ristorante Maitó ph. Aromi Group

Bagno Alpemare
Via Arenile, 69
ph. +39 0584 1811042

Thanks to the Bocelli family, who have completely renovated it and transformed it into an elegant oasis for their customers, Bagno Alpemare is one of Versilia's culinary treasures. The restaurant is directed by chef Mirko Caldino, who favours the choice of colours that are carefully combined in the dishes. The cuisine is genuine, spontaneous, traditional, simple but not predictable, made up of refined details and rich in creativity. Accompanying this journey into the guests' taste buds is an expert sommelier able to advise on the ideal pairing of wines and food on offer.

Bagno Silvio

For over 100 years, Bagno Silvio has been the ideal destination for those in search of tasty fish dishes made with refined, zero-kilometre ingredients. Always run by the Dazzi family who have handed it down from generation to generation, you cannot go to Silvio's without tasting its anchovy, crudo or the memorable imperial fried fish with a regular change of evo oil.

Filippo Forte dei Marmi
Via Sant’Elme, 6
ph. +39 0584 81376

Filippo Di Bartola has brought the historic Pietrasanta restaurant to Forte dei Marmi together with Andrea, in the kitchen, and Lara, at the wood-burning oven, because pizzas have been an element of novelty in the kitchen from the start, in addition to the more traditional fish dishes. A young and sprightly dining room is the setting for a Forte dei Marmi-style trattoria freely interpreted by Filippo.

FILIPPO Forte dei Marmi

Via della Repubblica, 14
ph. +39 0584 89879

An open kitchen, elegant rooms with a vaguely colonial-inspired design and a cool summer dehors, accompanied by jazz music. Bistrot's culinary proposal is a continuous search that starts from the tradition of local aromas and flavours, where sea and mountains meet, reinterpreted in a contemporary key through the chef's creative gesture. Exclusive private dinners can also be booked in the cellar.

Osteria del mare

A new way of looking at cuisine that gives the possibility to freely choose how, what and when to eat and drink. You absolutely must try the sushi, but also the raw food and the exquisite pasta dishes.

Pesce Baracca is a place with three souls: not only a fishmonger and street food but also a restaurant a few steps from the beautiful beaches of Forte dei Marmi. The menu is dictated by the sea and offers simple, immediate, informal dining but also attentive to the tradition of classic cuisine. There are first courses prepared with fresh home-made pasta, the ever-present spaghetti allo scoglio prepared with the classic family recipe, handed down from generation to generation since the opening of the first restaurant in 1964. The restaurant's special feature is certainly the possibility of choosing fish and shellfish directly from the fishmonger's counter.
